(un)scripted political landscpaes

مشهديات سياسية مُرتجلة

This interdisciplinary creational module aimed to deconstruct contemporary socio-political concepts and narratives from a Syrian perspective, emphasizing the role of text-based art and practices in representing subjective positions and empowering voices, in socio-political contexts.

Through lectures, guest talks, and practical exercises, participants produced a multimedia body of self-reflections and interpretations of the socio-political landscape in the SWANA region. The final project included reflective short texts, banners, and a large map that explored the region through various terminologies and concepts, highlighting the interconnectedness with personal experiences.

Members/Practitioners: Mitra Asghari, Briain Hudson, Helen Hümmer, Ahed Ibrahim and Nawar Alhusari.
Guests: Dr.Buthauna Ali, Nour Alhariri, Kinda Ghannoum.

This project was part of the Bauhaus Module 2023/2024. Supervised by: Prof. Markus Weisbick.

Heritage Futures: Time Capsule

I participated as a guest lecturer in this course and a co-curator for its final exhibition of the course.
My lecture, titled: Political Expression-Panels to Preserved Voices, discussed cases of politically engaged practices, and their role in forming collective social identity and memory, as a form of the intangible heritage in times of crises.

The concept of the exhibition was to design an interactive room (time capsule) in which participants and visitors interact with content from the course and reflect on terminologies the students have gathered and explored during the period of the course.
